At the meeting in May, 2008, the North Carolina State Board of Community Colleges’ Finance and Capital Needs Committee requested a Moodle Assessment Report to determine the status of “Moodle as a viable open-source alternative to the proprietary Blackboard online course management system (CMS).”  M.O.O.D.L.E., or Modular Object Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment, is an open source online course management system. This report  and corresponding blog is an effort by the Assessment Team to distribute the report findings and promote discussion.
